Why Donate?

Alan L. Bounville is on a mission to inspire and assist people and communities as far and wide as possible to start engaging in direct action and civil disobedience for queer equality. It is his hope that people, organizations and corporations continue to help him take CHAINED TO FREEDOM, a 45-minute show about activism, his new play being written right now or any activist services wherever they are wanted.

During the summer of 2010, Alan embarked on a journey across the nation performing CHAINED TO FREEDOM, facilitating civil disobedience trainings and workshops about activism and helping groups take action for queer equality. Adding to this, Alan will be starting to facilitate theatre for social change workshops where they are requested as well. Alan’s simple dream is to continue putting his talents to good use.

Your donation helps keep Alan on the road performing, facilitating and teaching. It’s Alan’s goal to go wherever he is needed without it costing those who ask for him to come into their community.

How you can help:

  1. Donate any amount of money to pay for Alan’s travel expenses (fuel) and lodging to your town – or any town!*
  2. Organize a space, date and promotion efforts assembling people to come see Alan perform or partake in any activist services Alan can provide in your area.
  3. Spread this website address: www.CHAINEDTOFREEDOM.com to your contacts.
  4. Spread the Facebook page far and wide.

*With the growing direct action network across the country, Alan is fully comfortable couch hopping with friends, both old and new to keep costs to a bare minimum. Costs for the shows or any training or assistance consists of airfare or gasoline (depending on which is cheaper), lodging along the way and basic living expenses for Alan. People are encouraged to give what they can, if they can. More importantly, if you want Alan to perform or to help in any way, just ask and he will do what it takes to support your needs.
